May I send my congratulations to your band on achieving such a fine result at the British Open. Ivan Meylemans’ reading of the score was outstanding and I’m sure that Glyn Williams’ overarching work with the band forms the bedrock of your achievement. It is wonderful that a village band such as yours, whose heart and soul is in the community, should achieve such heights. If I ever pass through Aldbourne I’ll let you know and we can all meet in the village pub and share a pint together.
